As a non-working member of the royal family, the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, who has been largely stripped of his Royal Highness title and banished from public life amid the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, will not wear an armed forces uniform at all, even at celebratory events this week.

The insider said Falklands War veteran Andrew would be allowed to wear his uniform as a sign of respect for Elizabeth II at the final vigil at Westminster Hall.

It remains unclear whether Prince Harry may also be banned from wearing his uniform if he attends any of the five ceremonial events.

Andrew has been stripped of His Royal Highness’s titles, military title and royal patronage over his friendship with convicted child sex abuser Epstein, and allegations made by Virginia Roberts that the prince sexually assaulted her when she was a minor under US law.

Harry and Meghan Markle were also stripped of their royal titles after they dramatically quit the frontline and left the UK for California.

King Charles III began his day in London by visiting Parliament Hall, in the Palace of Westminster, where he met both the House of Commons and the House of Lords to express their condolences, and Charles delivered his first speech as king in the presence of his wife, the Queen Consort.

King Charles, accompanied by Camilla, Queen Consort, will fly to Edinburgh, where he will walk at about 3:25 local time in a procession behind the Queen’s coffin from the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh to St Giles’ Cathedral.

Members of the public will be able to watch the procession as it moves along the Royal Mile.

A prayer service will be held to celebrate the life of the Queen at 4:00 pm and from 5:00 pm, and members of the public will be able to view the coffin, which will lie in the cathedral for 24 hours.

Officials say a queuing system will be in place, with more details to be announced soon.

The King will also travel to Holyrood House, where he will meet with the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon. He and the Queen consort will then attend the Scottish Parliament, where members will present letters of condolence.

In the evening, King Charles will hold a memorial service with other members of the royal family at St Giles’ Cathedral, where the Queen is resting.

The Queen’s coffin will be transported from St Giles’ Cathedral to Edinburgh Airport on Tuesday, and then on a plane to London with her daughter, Princess Anne.

The coffin is expected to arrive in London shortly before 7:00 pm, and then travel to Buckingham Palace, where it will be greeted by the King and Camilla.

And while the route, from St Giles’ Cathedral to Edinburgh Airport, has yet to be announced, members of the public will be able to view the procession.
