One of the British Royal Air Force’s “Red Arrows” was forced to make an emergency landing, after a bird smashed the cockpit of a jet plane worth 5 million pounds, as one of the jets was forced to separate from the formation of aircraft during the Royal Air Show 2022, in North Wales when the cockpit glass shattered dramatically, according to the British Daily Mail.
Thousands of spectators watched the scene, eyewitnesses heard a “loud bang” before the plane had to veer off course, and pilot Gregor Auguston gave an “emergency code” to indicate he was in trouble during the show.

The jet-setters continued past the port city until they were given permission to return to Howard Airport, and the crowd attending the show was told that the plane had been the victim of a “bird strike” in which a bird had crashed into the air.
The bird hit the front of the glass cockpit of the £5 million plane, just inches from the pilot, and the cockpit crashed, leaving a hole with its pilot exposed to the weather, and one eyewitness said: “This pilot is lucky to be alive. Anything happens at that moment.”

A spokesperson for the air show said: “Thanks to everyone at the air show this weekend, we had to end the Red Arrows show today a few minutes ago after one of our planes was hit by a bird, damaging the cockpit canopy.”
He continued: “This type of accident is not uncommon in aviation and is very well trained, in this case, he responded Red 6 And the whole team perfectly together, without any other risks to the pilot and the plane.”
