We are determined to increase the number of tourists and students visiting Jordan

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy, Abdullah Al-Aqeel, stressed the importance of acquainting the Turkish tourist and student with the religious monuments and shrines that the Kingdom enjoys, as it is a blessed land that includes the martyrs of the companions of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, and the mujahideen who participated in the Islamic conquests that spread Islam greatly. During a meeting on Saturday with a delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the Republic of Turkey.

The Turkish delegation included Director General of the Directorate of Religious Affairs, Mehmet Balgin, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services, Ramzi Barcan, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Religious Institution Ihsan Acık.

And he indicated that the ministry welcomes any cooperation to promote religious tourism and visit the shrines of the Companions, peace be upon them, to familiarize the Turkish tourist with these important religious landmarks that talk about Islam and the sacrifices made by those who preceded us in spreading and preserving Islam.

For its part, the Turkish delegation affirmed the depth of the historical relationship between the Jordanian and Turkish peoples, pointing to the Turkish government’s keenness to build bridges of communication and cooperation in order to promote religious tourism and introduce Turkish tourists to the historical and religious landmarks that Jordan includes and sponsors.

The delegation expressed its intention to work on increasing the number of tourists and students who will visit Jordan to see religious and archaeological monuments, in addition to learning the classical Arabic language.

They appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Awqaf in taking care of religious shrines and areas and providing them with all services.
