No change in school hours due to the heat wave

The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Wajih Aweys, confirmed that the school students’ schedule for the academic year 2022/2023 is on schedule.
Owais said, on Saturday, that there is no change in the date for the start of students’ work in the first semester, scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, due to the heat wave in the Kingdom.
The teaching staff started working for the academic year last Wednesday, August 24, as well as handing over textbooks to students, registering those transferred from them, and taking completion exams.
According to the calendar, the first semester ends with achievement tests lasting 14 days, starting on Tuesday 12/12/2022 and continuing until Thursday 29/12/2022, followed by the winter vacation, while the second semester ends with achievement tests for 17 days starting on Saturday 3/6 /2023 and continues until Wednesday 21/6/2023, followed by the summer vacation.
Regarding the presence of about 10,000 students on the reserve list in transportation to government schools, Owais confirmed that accommodating lists of students were requested in the school.
He explained that the ministry has several options to accommodate these students by opening new classes and going to the evening shift for some schools, calling on parents to cooperate with the ministry in light of the shortage in the number of government schools.
