The former minister, Maha Al-Khatib, said that statistics indicate that approximately 70% of individuals appear before the judiciary without a lawyer.
“One out of every five families faces legal problems,” Al-Khatib added during a legal aid conference organized by the Justice Center.
Al-Khatib, while she is the head of the administrative body of the Justice Center, said that this conference comes in light of exceptional regional and global circumstances left by the Corona pandemic, stressing that the conference’s goal is to invite partners to help restore dialogue in the public space to its position to be effective, feasible and professional.
Al-Khatib indicated that the Justice Center has built a system for service provision, supervision, and quality control, indicating that the Justice Center’s systems are documented, computerized and reproducible, making the Justice Center a house of expertise in the field of providing legal aid.
