The Niger government announced the opening of the online application for mosquito nets between September 1 and 12, as part of the initiative it launched in cooperation with a number of civil societies, which targets 3,766,892 families, according to the African Guardian website.

A mosquito net will be given to every two family members, and delivery will be made to the door of the house, in order to combat malaria, which is transmitted through mosquitoes.

According to the website of the Presidential Initiative to Combat Malaria in Niger, malaria represents 28% of the total number of patients in the country and 50% of the total deaths, and 62% of those infected with it are children under the age of 5 years.

The website indicated that the efforts to prevent the disease carried out by the government of Niger include protecting women from infection during pregnancy, providing medicines that prevent seasonal infections, and distributing treated bed nets with a long-term effect.
