A parliamentary memorandum calling on the government to return Jordanian funds in Lebanon

On Monday evening, deputies called on the government, in a memorandum, to intervene in the return of deposits by Jordanian individuals, institutions and companies that are deposited with Lebanese banks and are now in a state of being frozen, on the recommendation of the Central Bank of Lebanon.

Following is the text of the memo:

Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives
In accordance with the provisions of Article 152/153 of the bylaws of the House of Representatives, I place before the honorable presidency the memorandum below.

We the undersigned deputies, and with our understanding of the economic situation that brotherly Lebanon is going through, but this does not absolve us from the need for quick action by the government to intervene in the return of a total of 1.200 billion and 200 million dollars, equivalent to 840 million Jordanian dinars, as a deposit by Jordanian individuals, institutions and companies. With Lebanese banks and banks, and they are now in a state frozen on the recommendation of the Central Bank of Lebanon, and therefore it is necessary to intervene quickly to return these funds to support our economy and deposit them with Jordanian banks to benefit from them, hoping from the honorable presidency to address the government to move at all levels in order to return those funds deposited in Lebanese banks.
