The head of the Syndicate of Owners of Clearance and Cargo Transport Companies, Dhaifallah Abu Aqoula, expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the complications and bureaucracy in the handling of the General Customs Department, which daily delay the progress of shipping transactions and the clearance of goods.

In a press statement issued today, Abu Aqoula said that despite the technological development that the government is entering into its work, the General Customs Department still clings to bureaucracy in its daily dealings, which has caused work to decline and delay, stressing that it violates the royal and government directives in administrative reform and public sector work reform.

Abu Aqoula added that things on the ground are getting more complicated and completely different from what the department shows in the media, as trucks are piling up daily, waiting for clearance or formal approvals that are delayed as a result of the government window being disrupted or moody in dealing with them.

And he indicated that the confusion that the Customs Department is experiencing has become apparent. By following the course of daily transactions, the auditor collides with the time obstacle he needs to complete them, in addition to the conflict of powers and the absence of decision-makers in finding solutions and bullying the dealers, imposing more requests and imposing procedures that impede the development of a modern economy that we can Through it competition in international standards and in line with the national interest.

Abu Aqoula refused to talk about the achievements, and many of the transactions need a week to complete and several other days to download and inspect, and then return to the main department in the capital Amman, which takes additional time that may reach weeks to decide on some transactions with decisions that are often unfair and can be resolved from the beginning in the same center in addition to the ineffectiveness of channels Correspondence and communication between business parties audited by clearance companies.

He pointed out that the existing feature of dealing has become the search for formal errors to make notes to impose fines that benefit materially and are distributed according to the mechanisms of its subject so that the desire to write violations outweighs the importance of speed of completion.
