Sadness reigned on social media platforms following the announcement of the death of 5 children in an apartment fire in the Rusaifa District on Friday morning.

After the children’s death was announced, thousands of comments and posts poured out praising the children who died in the fire, amid calls for God to inspire their families and relatives patience and solace.

Activists on social media expressed their deep sadness over the sad incident that resulted in the death of the children, calling on the official authorities to expedite the investigation and reveal the causes and circumstances of the fire.

Some called Good Friday, due to the death of the five children, in reference to the magnitude of the incident and the great state of grief that overwhelmed Jordanians as a result of the incident, which they described as painful.

They called on the parents to follow all means of public safety and to ensure that children are not left in the homes alone, and to close the sources of ignition and to ensure that the electrical installations in the homes.

Five children died, on Friday morning, as a result of a fire that broke out in one of the apartments on the second floor in the Prince Hashem housing area in the Rusifa Brigade, according to Amer Al-Sartawi, spokesman for the Public Security Directorate.

He said in a press statement: “As soon as the report was received, the civil defense cadres moved to the site and worked to put out the fire. During the inspection of the site, the bodies of the five children were found, and they were evacuated to Prince Faisal Governmental Hospital.”

And the security services opened an investigation to find out the causes of the fire.
