Postage stamps, these small papers that carry a lot of details, whether written or some drawings documenting a history or an event, drew the attention of Adam Hafez, 41, since he was a small child, and he collected them from the envelopes of the answers sent home or at school. He did not imagine that with the passage of days he would win the prize of the World Philatelic Championship in Indonesia, in which 66 countries and 500 participants participated.

Adam said in his speech to “The Seventh Day” that the beginning of his love for postage stamps was at a young stage of his life, after he witnessed them on many letters, and he did not know their value, but he knew very well that this small paper carries within it a history and details that pass to generations to come. He said, “I started collecting them at a young age, and I was interested in Pharaonic stamps because I was associated with ancient Egyptian history since my childhood.”
He added that although his work is far from the hobby of collecting stamps, as he works in the field of marketing and entrepreneurship after obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University and subsequently obtained several master’s and doctoral degrees from American universities, the most important of which is Harvard, his love for postage stamps did not say, but rather He got more excited and began to research it and its details, especially since his main goal through it is to preserve the heritage and document the history and days that these stamps carried.
He added, “I stopped collecting stamps for a while, but I kept them, until I joined the Egyptian Association of Postage stamp enthusiasts, through which I was able to participate in the Indonesia competition and obtained the World Championship by displaying a very rare collection of letters from the French office in Alexandria in the nineteenth century.”
Regarding the importance of the hobby of stamp collecting, he said, “What people do not know about the hobby of collecting postage stamps is a history and cultural heritage that expresses our Egyptian identity.” He answers the best of what is in his group, because on the other hand, it helps him enter competitions and get high ratings, and on the other hand, he will be an investment because the groups are expensive.”

He added that postage stamps are not just papers, but a history that has been transmitted with its details to generations and generations, especially after holding several exhibitions and international competitions. We are talking about stamps, envelopes, sealed travel letters, or any documents or picture cards, all of which mimic the history and cultures of peoples.
