Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, confirmed on Tuesday that the Palestinian issue was the forefront of the Jordanian-Bahraini talks.

Al-Safadi stressed, during joint press statements with his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, that “any proposal other than the two-state solution is an absurd theorization that neither advances nor delays,” adding, “We want a just and comprehensive solution and the right to sovereign freedom.”

He pointed out that it was agreed to institutionalize work between the ministries of foreign affairs of Jordan and Bahrain, and to prepare for practical meetings to reach large areas of work.

Al-Safadi stressed, “in detail, the bilateral dimension of relations between Jordan and Bahrain,” stressing that there are many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, and that “in a month, there will be a clear roadmap for how to advance relations between the two countries.”

“This year, we celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the relations between the two countries,” according to Safadi.

Al-Safadi welcomed Minister Al-Zayani on his first visit to Jordan, indicating that holding meetings to strengthen relations were discussed, in addition to discussing coordination on regional issues and joint Arab action.

On Tuesday, Safadi held extensive discussions with Al-Zayani, at the ministry’s headquarters, on ways to strengthen the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two kingdoms, the latest developments and issues of common interest.
