The Board of Directors of the Agricultural Credit Corporation approved, during a meeting held today, Monday, headed by the Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Hanaifat, an encouraging package of discounts on interest, profits and interest on expropriated land loans at rates ranging between 15 percent and 50 percent for borrowers wishing to close their debts.

The package came from the Corporation’s desire to relieve borrowers and improve the Corporation’s liquidity, which would help it play its developmental role and develop the agricultural and rural sector.

At its meeting, the Board reviewed the Corporation’s achievements during the current year, including granting loans worth approximately 40 million dinars, from which about 9 thousand borrowers benefited, and loans directed to specific activities without interest, and others with subsidized benefits to develop the agricultural sector.

The Director General of the Corporation, Engineer Muhammad Al-Balawna, confirmed that the Corporation is proceeding with its lending plan, which targets value-added projects and leaves an impact on unemployment and poverty, and generates income for families working in the agricultural sector, especially in the governorates and rural areas.

He indicated that the continuation of the implementation of this plan comes within the axis of lending and rehabilitation in the National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture (2022-2025) implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture to develop the agricultural sector, pointing to the activation of the electronic payment service (ie your bills) in the institution as of this August.
