The legality of the House of Representatives approves articles on the service rate of officers

The Parliamentary Legal Committee approved, during a meeting held today, Sunday, a number of articles of a draft law amending the Law of Service for Officers in the Jordanian Armed Forces for the year 2022.
Its chairman, Lawyer Abdel Moneim Al-Awdat, in the presence of Minister of Justice Ahmed Al-Ziyadat, Director of Military Judiciary Hazem Al-Majali, and Director of Personnel Affairs Ahmed Talaat, said that the committee approved these articles after studying and discussing them with stakeholders, adding that the amendments came to keep pace with developments that are positively reflected on the officers and to keep pace with previous amendments that took place. on the bill.
Al-Majali, for his part, said that the amendments came to keep pace with developments on the ground, and to grant powers to the Director of Officers’ Affairs.
Talaat, in turn, said that the amendments came to modify the allowances and bonuses of officers in the field, as well as regulating transfer, assignment and leave procedures for the purpose of study.
He added that the amendments also came to raise the days of maternity leave for civil servants, equating them with the police leave for a period not exceeding 90 days with a full salary with bonuses, and granting the officer and civil employee paternity leave with bonuses for a period of three days in the event of the birth of the wife based on an approved medical report.
Talaat added that the amendments also came in harmony with the start of applying the Social Security Law to retirees as of January 1, 2023, for all those who joined the service after 2003.
It is noteworthy that the reasons for a draft law amending the Law of Service for Officers in the Jordanian Armed Forces for the year 2022 came to keep pace with the development witnessed by the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army in various fields and to meet the necessities of current work in them, and to change some names in line with the practical reality in force in the armed forces And to reconsider the provisions related to assignment, transfer, secondment, dismissal of officer service, expulsion from service and reinstatement thereto, and to regulate paternity leave, cessation of custody, enlistment, and all matters related to custody.
The meeting was attended by Representatives: Dina Al-Bashir, Ghazi Al-Thneibat, Saleh Al-Wukian, Mahmoud Al-Farajat, Abdul Rahim Al-Maayeh, Muhammad Jaradat, Fayez Basbous, Abdullah Awad and Yazan Shdeifat.
