Why would the old Zarqa Hospital be demolished?

The Compass – The Zarqa Governorate Council decided to demolish the old Zarqa Governmental Hospital, establish a comprehensive health center on its site, rehabilitate the maternity and childhood building in the old hospital, and transfer the Chest Diseases and Expatriates Health Center from Rusaifa to it.

In a press statement today, the head of the provincial council, Dr. Majid Al-Khudari, indicated to the coordination with the Ministry of Health to demolish the hospital, which was built in the center of the city in the Al-Hawuz neighborhood in 1951 AD, with the exception of the administration building and the maternity center, after technical reports showed that large parts of the building are dilapidated and prone to collapse in Any moment where the building is no longer usable except for the administration building and maternity center.

Al-Khudari explained that the Zarqa Governorate Council has made the necessary allocations to build a comprehensive health center for all specialties in the place of the hospital after the demolitions that will take place within weeks, pointing out that the cost of demolition will be from the allocations of the Ministry of Health, while the establishment of the comprehensive health center will be from the allocations of the governorate council, which He agreed to allocate the necessary funds for this purpose in the 2023 budget.
