Compass – The representative of the automotive sector in the Free Zones Investors Authority, Jihad Abu Nasser, confirmed that all cars imported from China to Jordan conform to the technical specifications approved in the Kingdom.
This comes at a time when many rumors have spread through social networking sites, about the safety of some of these vehicles, and their compliance with the technical specifications approved locally and even externally in other countries.
Abu Nasser said that a committee from the licensing department checks any vehicle before it enters the Jordanian market, and before sending it to the customs center concerned with clearing it.
He explained that the licensing department examines vehicles from all points related to the safety and security of these vehicles, and the vehicle is given approval to enter the Jordanian market or not.
Abu Nasser stressed that the rumors that spread about some of the vehicles imported to Jordan from China are “unfounded,” adding that there is no proven case of some of these vehicles malfunctioning.
He pointed to the availability of all parts of these vehicles, and the inspection and maintenance devices related to these vehicles, pointing out that the lack of recognition by the official agent in the Kingdom of these vehicles, does not mean that they suffer from any technical problems, or the lack of parts and proper ways to maintain them.
Abu Nasser indicated that one of the electric vehicles imported from China to Jordan topped the sales of electric cars since the beginning of the year.
