The Council of Ministers approves the system of formations of ministries, departments and government units

The Council of Ministers, in its session held today, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, approved the system of formations of ministries, departments and government units for the fiscal year 2022 AD.

The system comes for the purposes of defining the formations of ministries, departments and government units, and the set of jobs, their number, categories, titles and degrees, the allocations of which are specified in the laws of the general budget and the budgets of government units for the year 2022 AD.

The Council of Ministers also approved the regulation of the Agricultural and Medicinal Research Center in the Jordanian Armed Forces for the year 2022 AD; With the aim of establishing a center specialized in the cultivation of medicinal plants, and conducting scientific agricultural research and pharmacological studies on them, in a way that contributes to raising the level of medical and therapeutic capabilities in the Jordanian Armed Forces and enhancing their efficiency.

The Council approved the reasons for a draft system amending the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management System for the year 2022 AD, with the aim of identifying hazardous materials and waste whose entry, import, storage, handling, use, destruction or dumping in any way in the Kingdom is prohibited or restricted, and to form a specialized technical committee to organize the management of materials and hazardous waste.

The Council also approved the compelling reasons for the draft system to prevent harm within the borders of the Amman Municipality for the year 2022 AD, and the draft system for the forests, parks and public gardens of the Greater Amman Municipality for the year 2022 AD.

Both regulations are in line with the provisions of Amman Municipality Law No. (18) of 2021 AD, and its entry into force, which stipulated the issuance of draft regulations regulating the work of the Municipality.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the “National Charter of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence” and circulate it to all ministries, institutions and government departments to abide by what is duly stated therein.

The adoption of the charter comes in implementation of the requirements of the Jordanian policy for artificial intelligence, which stipulated the development of national regulatory frameworks to ensure the responsible use of artificial intelligence; Which stimulates creativity and innovation.

The charter aims to emphasize finding a common ethical base that regulates the development of artificial intelligence techniques that stem from human and religious values, and the customs and traditions of society, and raise awareness of the dangers that can result from practices outside the responsible and safe ethical framework.

The charter includes a set of basic ethical principles that include: accountability, transparency, impartiality, respect for privacy, promotion of human values ​​and other principles that promote the rule of law, human rights, democratic values ​​and diversity, and take into account the most important ethical issues for the use of artificial intelligence and the protection of creativity, taking into account innovation, Intellectual property rights.
