The Compass – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs welcomed the agreement to extend the armistice in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, and to renew its commitment to it.

The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Haitham Abu Al-Ful, affirmed that Jordan supports efforts to end the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the approved references of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue, and Security Council Resolution No. (2216), which leads to ending the crisis in Yemen, and to achieve security and stability, in a manner that guarantees Yemen’s unity, stability and territorial integrity, alleviates the suffering of its brotherly people and fulfills its aspirations for security and peace.

The official spokesman for the ministry added that the Kingdom appreciates all the efforts made by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, and affirms its continuation of providing support to the UN mission to Yemen, which is based in the capital, Amman.
