A scene and not in the movies… The Japanese Battyra plant invades the homes of an American city “Tour”

The Japanese batatia plant has taken over a garden in the city of Worcester Worcester Massachusetts, USA, and the Japanese plant sneaks into homes like a scene from a horror movie The Day of the Triffids Which made the residents angry.

Locals fear that the fast-growing plants are taking root in the Brickfields ParkThey could reduce the value of their property, and they say the council has repeatedly ignored their pleas for help.

Residents say the unsightly weeds, which have grown about six feet in the garden, are invading their homes and need to be treated, and some claim they have grown just 20 meters from their homes.

Retired gardener Dennis Hudson, who lives in a £200,000 bungalow, says he told council members about the problem, but nothing was done to address it..


Japanese knotweed is one of the most common invasive plants in the UK.  Mr Hodson said the plant is about to seed and that action needs to be taken now

“It’s kind of a nightmare..it got to about six feet in the garden and I tried to contact the council, but they didn’t do anything..the plant is about to grow and it will spread further. It’s time to act.”

“I was able to remove it from my border a few years ago with a strong herbicide, but it just came back,” the man noted.
