Representative Yanal Freihat said that the government’s draft law to amend the National Center for Human Rights law contradicts the principle and orientation of affiliation with political parties.

He considered that neutralizing the head and commissioner of the National Center for Human Rights from partisan quarrels contradicts the encouragement to join parties, and that “this matter repels parties.”

Criticizing the government’s amendment to the law, the MP asked, “How will we insure the prime minister of the government to be partisan, as well as the ministers if each of them will be aligned with his party?”

And the deputy indicated that there is a vote within the Board of Trustees of the National Center, and if the members are partisans, they will pass their decisions on the non-partisan president, pointing out that there are ways to “circulate, the majority party can appoint someone close to the party.”
