Today, Sunday, the Israeli occupation government approved a proposal to speed up the implementation of the “Jordan Gate” project, which is the joint industrial zone between Israel and Jordan.
The “I24” website stated, “The government approved today the proposal of Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Minister of Regional Cooperation Issawi Frej, to expedite the procedures for implementing the project.”
According to a statement issued by the occupation government, “28 years after the signing of the peace agreement with Jordan, we are taking good-neighborly relations between the two countries a step forward, and this is an achievement that will contribute significantly to the development and strengthening of the region.”
The statement indicated that “the final details of this project were finalized with King Abdullah during Lapid’s visit to the Jordanian capital, Amman, last week.”
The statement indicated that the duty-free industrial zone will allow Israeli and Jordanian entrepreneurs and businessmen to set up joint projects and communicate directly.
The statement stressed that this project is one of the fruits of the signing of the 1994 peace agreement aimed at deepening and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
