The agreement “Establishing and Managing Vehicle Seizure Yards Centers” between the Ministry of Justice and the Public Security Directorate will enter into force tomorrow, Monday, which provides for the establishment of yards for impounded vehicles in all governorates of the Kingdom under the management and supervision of Public Security.
Under the agreement, dealings with private seizure yards will be completely halted after the agreement comes into force, while maintaining the status quo and not transferring the vehicles seized in the current seizure yards to the seizure yards contracted with the Public Security Directorate until the currently seized vehicles are disposed of.
The agreement comes for the purposes of maintaining the safety of the impounded vehicles, regulating all matters related to the vehicle seizure yards, preserving the rights of the stakeholders and saving their money from tampering by illegal parties, as the Public Security Directorate is responsible for controlling vehicles.
The agreement contributes to avoiding the recurrence of complaints and observations received on the current seizure yards, which are represented in the lack of reservation yards in all governorates of the Kingdom, the narrowness of the yards, the poor preservation of vehicles in them, and their lack of security and safety means, as well as the owners’ lack of commitment to the wages to be met, and the exaggeration of the wages of the cranes used in Transferring seized vehicles, in addition to losing some parts of the vehicles’ accessories, and personal belongings in the seized vehicle.
