Love and Thunder” from all Jordanian cinemas and shops in the Kingdom, due to its inclusion of 4 scenes and dialogues of homosexuality, which violates the legislation governing the work of the Media Authority. Especially the Law of Works No. 63 of 2004 and its amendments, especially Article (4/4), which states: “Deliberately authorizing any work shall comply with the following: Not to include in it instinctive or promoting pornography, violence, crime, perversion, or abuse of public order and morals. the public”.

According to a statement issued on Saturday, the company that supplied the film was asked to delete the offending scenes, which stated that the film’s manufacturer refused to delete those scenes, despite the fact that the film was edited by the manufacturer before it arrived in the Kingdom, and they deleted a scene of a naked man before receiving it and monitoring it by the authority’s cadres. Note that the film was banned in most Arab countries.

Gulf countries had shown the movie “Thor: Love and Thunder” in cinemas; This is against the background of scenes that were considered to “encourage homosexuality”.

An official source in the Bahraini Ministry of Information Affairs said: “It was decided to stop one of the films shown in cinemas,” referring to “Thor,” adding that the ministry is keen to “preserve and maintain the benign societal values.”

In Doha, Al-Sharq newspaper reported that the Qatari authorities banned the film “because of the appearance of a gay character.”

While no intention was announced to screen it in the Sultanate of Oman and Saudi Arabia, the UAE is the only Gulf country in which the film can be watched, noting that other countries outside the Gulf also banned it, including Egypt.

Last April, Saudi Arabia asked Disney to remove a “reference to the gay community” from the Marvel Studios movie “Doctor Strange”; In order to allow it to be shown in cinemas in the conservative kingdom, the film was not shown in Saudi cinemas in the end.
