The European Union has officially approved the use of a Danish pharmaceutical company’s vaccine against monkeypox, while the World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a global health emergency, according to Bloomberg News.

And the Danish company “Bavarian Nordic” announced today, Monday, that its “Emphanx” vaccine against smallpox has obtained a leave to be classified as an anti-monkeypox. This step comes after a similar license to use the vaccine in Canada and the United States.

The global outbreak of monkeypox affected about 16,000 people in more than 70 countries in a few months.

The head of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak at the weekend a public health emergency that requires international attention, the first decision of its kind since the outbreak of the Corona virus.
