On Wednesday, Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh confirmed the abolition of the customs tax on medicines for personal use at border posts and airports.

This came during the closed parliamentary governmental meeting. Al-Khasawneh decided to cancel the decision issued by the Food and Drug General Corporation, which includes prohibiting the entry of any medicine from the border areas without its approval, referring to “the decision to prevent the entry of medicine as null and void.”

In turn, MP Tammam Al-Riyati left the closed government parliamentary meeting, which was held on Wednesday in Akef Al-Fayez Hall, due to the failure of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh to her intervention and inquiries about the Aqaba port gas incident.

After her exit, she said that she had raised the issue of the gas leak in the city of Aqaba, but the government did not answer her questions, which prompted her to protest.

Representatives said that they did not reach a conclusion in their meeting with the government, underestimating the importance of the meeting, especially since it did not address issues of importance and preoccupied the Jordanian street.
