Jordan recorded a significant jump in tourism revenues, according to official data, during the first half of the current year 2022, with an increase of 252.7 percent, compared to the same period last year.
And the Central Bank of Jordan announced, on Wednesday, the increase in tourism income during the first six months of this year to 1.557 billion dinars (2.196 billion dollars), compared to 441.4 million dinars (622.5 million dollars) during the same period of the previous year.
According to the data of the Central Bank, this came as a result of the increase in the number of tourists coming to the Kingdom by 1.4 million, to reach 1.9 million tourists during the first half.
Tourism income rose in June by 174.6 percent, compared to the corresponding month of last year, reaching 353.3 million dinars ($498.3 million).
The head of the Arab Tourism Organization confirmed that Jordan is one of the developed countries regionally and internationally in the field of medical and hospital tourism, pointing out that Jordan is qualified to attract more tourism and tourism investments.
He pointed out that the organization is working on programs to promote medical tourism, stressing that Jordan is one of the main destinations for Arab medical tourism, as well as being a suitable destination for Arab family tourism.
