The Russian fighter, Osman Nur Mammadov, won a new victory in his continuous series of victories in the “Bellator 283” championship for mixed martial arts known as (MMA).
Mammadov forced his American fighter Christopher Gonzalez to surrender in the first round, after executing a choke.
Nur Mammadov’s cousin strangles his American rival
The fight was held between the fighters, in the city of Tacoma, located in Pierce in the American capital, Washington.
Near the fence, Othman managed to defeat his American opponent, who tried to escape repeatedly but to no avail, to decide to surrender after two minutes and 54 seconds from the start of the fight.
According to the official website of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (MMA), Mammadov achieved his fourth consecutive victory in the Bellator Federation and the fifteenth during his professional career.
The site added that Osman Nur Mammadov (24 years old), who is the cousin of the Russian fighter Habib Nur Mahdov, has not lost any match so far.
On the other hand, American Gonzalez (30 years) suffered his second loss in his professional career so far, compared to 7 victories.
Osman Nur Mammadov appeared for the first time in the Bellator competitions in April 2021, and on that day he faced his compatriot Mike Hamel and won him unanimously after only three rounds of starting the fight.
Othman seeks to follow in the footsteps of his cousin Habib, who ascended the throne of the game from April 2018, until March 2021.
Habib trusts his cousin’s abilities
Habib says about his cousin Othman: “He will be the next champion of the game. He is improving after every fight, and I think he is currently playing with 50% of his potential.”
He added: “When you watch him inside the cage (the ring), it is easy to forget that he is not 24 years old, and he is characterized by calmness and high concentration during the fight.”
Osman responded to these statements: “My family name (Nur Mammadov) does not put any pressure on me, and Habib always supports me. I feel strong and confident when he is close to me.”
He added, “My family is my strongest support, and I have to represent it at the highest level. This is what I plan to do. My goal is to win every fight and become a champion.”
Osman must first complete his light weight fight career, in order to qualify and be ready to participate in the UFC fights, which is the largest and most powerful company operating in mixed martial arts based in the United States of America.
