Today, Tuesday, Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Farayeh affirmed that training and employment are the government’s top priorities, and that it is working with its local and external partners to create an investment-attractive environment. To generate more job opportunities for Jordanians.
During his inauguration in Al-Hassan Sports City in Irbid, the activities of the fourth career day, organized by the Irbid Chamber of Industry and the Investors Association in Al-Hassan Industrial City, added that the exhibition, which will provide about a thousand job opportunities, represents a true translation of the partnership between the private and public sectors to transform this priority into a tangible reality on the ground. .
Al-Faraya stressed that the seriousness of the public and private sectors in providing real and required job opportunities requires similar seriousness by job seekers, calling for seizing any job opportunities as they constitute an entry point for the development and advancement of employment, in comparison with the commitment and proficiency offered by the worker through which he ranks in the ranks of the structure career, and not to wait for a job opportunity that comes on a “golden platter as he desires.”
He also called not to wait for a public job, but to seize the opportunity in any position in the private sector until the young man turns into a productive human being who covers his needs and does not remain a breadwinner for his family.
Al-Faraya confirmed that the draft law to improve the investment environment, which the government pushed to the House of Representatives, addresses many issues that hinder investment and gives it more encouraging benefits, which is reflected in its ability to grow and provide more job and employment opportunities.
Al-Faraya praised the great efforts made by the Irbid Chamber of Industry, the Association of Investors and Municipalities and all industrial bodies and companies to provide real and serious job opportunities that touch reality, pointing out that thousands of young men and women have come to benefit from the job opportunities offered by the job day demonstrate the seriousness and desire of our youth to get enough work. To cover their needs at the very least.
The Minister of Interior called on employers participating in the job day to respond quickly in filling the vacancies available to them so that young people would not be left waiting and anxious.
Al-Farayeh pointed out that the National Employment Program, for which the government allocated 80 million dinars to provide 6,000 job opportunities and targeted 80 establishments, has only exploited 3,000 opportunities so far.
He stressed the readiness of the Ministry of Interior to respond to any requirements within its competence, contributing to finding solutions to any obstacles facing the industrial and investment sector.
In turn, the head of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, said that the job day is an episode of a series of multiple activities and events related to employment in the industrial sector, organized by the chamber since the establishment of its employment support unit in 2015.
He pointed out that today is a realistic translation of the best forms of cooperation and partnership, especially as it brought together public and civil institutions and the local community, in addition to factory owners, true partners, to provide job opportunities for young people.
He noted that the Irbid Chamber of Industry always seeks to provide distinguished services needed by the industrial sector and the local community, foremost among which is the provision of high-quality operating services to both employers and job seekers, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Abdullah II of the need to provide job opportunities in the private sector to reduce challenges Poverty and unemployment.
Abu Hassan indicated that the Chamber’s Employment Support Unit, since its establishment, has provided about 6,000 decent job opportunities, indicating that work is underway with vigor and activity in the future to achieve more services and achievements.
Abu Hassan stressed that the high unemployment rate does not mean the lack of job opportunities, indicating that young people are required to accept the available jobs and try to develop their skills and expertise.
He valued the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and ministries related to industry and labor to improve the investment environment, and the Trade for Employment project funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation, to make the Chamber’s efforts and objectives in developing the industrial sector and generating more job opportunities.
In turn, the representative of the Trade for Employment Program in Jordan, Sherif Younis, said that the program has achieved great successes by working with all partners in the private and public sectors, indicating that it aims to support and develop trade in Jordan and work to build the capacities of national authorities and improve employment services in a way that provides More decent job opportunities.
He pointed out that this cooperation comes as a reflection of the strategic partnership between Jordan and Germany and a translation of the bonds of cooperation between the two friendly countries, in line with the vision of economic modernization.
He added that the cooperation with the Irbid Chamber of Industry for the current and next year comes as a continuation of support for local institutions that provide quality training and employment services, which supports the competitiveness of the industrial sector and its ability to grow and develop.
For his part, the mayor of Greater Irbid, Dr. Nabil Al-Kofhi, affirmed the municipality’s readiness to provide all forms of facilities for any investment project that provides job opportunities for Jordanians, stressing the importance of sustaining the partnership between all official and civil institutions to support the complementarity of efforts aimed at strengthening the economic and social security system by providing greater As many jobs as possible.
He stressed that the municipality’s development path based on investment, digital transformation, activating the women’s and youth empowerment unit, and forming a higher investment council, all aim to find sustainable development that is concerned with accommodating further development and growth as an incubator for the workforce.
For his part, Imad Al-Naddaf, Chairman of the Investors Association in Al-Hassan Industrial City, praised the efforts and response of the Ministry of Interior in resolving many issues for investors in the city of Al-Hassan and the Qualified Industrial Zones, stressing that the lesson of the draft law to improve the investment environment remains its success dependent on practice.
He called on young people not to underestimate any job opportunity, no matter how modest in their opinion, because it opens wider horizons for the worker to develop his skills to transform from a job seeker to a job seeker.
The job day witnessed a remarkable turnout by more than 5,000 job seekers.
Its activities were attended by Irbid Governor Radwan Al-Atoum, his assistant for development Rami Badr, members of the Chamber of Industry, investors in the industrial sector, and a number of officials.
