Agreement to remove restrictions on the flow of trade

An expanded Egyptian-Jordanian consultation session was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Moroccan Affairs Ayman Safadi, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The session was attended by: Minister of Finance Dr. Muhammad Al-Assis, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali, Director General of Customs Major General Jalal Al-Qudah, Jordanian Ambassador to Cairo Amjad Al-Adayleh, and on the Egyptian side, Minister of Finance Dr. Muhammad Maait, Minister of Transport Lieutenant-General Kamel Al-Wazir, and Minister of Trade Industry Nevin Jameh, in addition to a number of senior officials from the two brotherly countries.
The consultations session dealt with a number of priority areas of bilateral cooperation for both sides in light of the escalating international and regional challenges, which were reflected on the security and stability of the region.
They discussed ways to enhance aspects of relations during the coming period, especially at the economic and investment levels, and to enhance the movement of trade exchange and in the field of transportation, in line with the directives of the leadership of the two countries to move forward in pushing the various frameworks and mechanisms of cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in all fields.
The two sides agreed to remove the restrictions that limit the flow of trade between the two brotherly countries, with the formation of a joint working group from the relevant ministries in Jordan and Egypt to facilitate procedures and deal with any future challenges, as well as identifying two points of contact for this goal in the embassies of the two countries.
During the session, they discussed the Jordanian-Egyptian bilateral projects in many sectors, to follow up the implementation path of these projects in a manner that maximizes the common interests of both sides, and in a manner that reflects the depth and rootedness of the existing strategic relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples in light of the bonds of brotherhood, unity of destiny and common goals that bind them.
