The Director General of the Civil Consumer Corporation, Salman Al-Qudah, said that there are indications of a decrease in the prices of vegetable oils globally during the coming period.

Speaking to Jordan TV, today, Sunday, the judges affirmed that any commodity purchased at low prices will be immediately reversed on citizens, including vegetable oils.

He stressed that the Corporation is working to relieve citizens by providing goods at low prices, and following all procedures to achieve this end.

He pointed to raising the prices of some newly purchased goods at simple rates, taking into account the purchasing power of citizens, pointing out that the institution is the government’s tool for controlling prices.

He noted that the institution does not seek profit, and has high expenses represented in employee salaries, building wages and the electricity bill, adding that it is trying to cover part of the costs by following the policy of limited profit margin.

He pointed out to hedge a strategic stock of basic commodities in the corporation’s warehouses to face fluctuations or rise in global prices, or a decrease in production or disruption of shipment.
