Examining the establishment of fertilizer factories in cooperation with Indonesia

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, Dr. Muhammad Al-Thneibat, met at the company’s headquarters today, Wednesday, a delegation from the two Indonesian companies (Petro kimia Gresk / PKG) and (PT Pupuk Indonesia) to discuss cooperation between the two sides in establishing joint projects in Jordan for the production of phosphate fertilizers.
The visit of the Indonesian delegation to the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company came as a continuation of the discussions held earlier by Dr. Al-Thneibat with the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Shahrul Yasin Limo, on the sidelines of the annual conference of the International Fertilizer Association, which was held in Vienna last May.
Today’s discussions witnessed a consensus between the two sides to continue enhancing opportunities for long-term joint cooperation and finding strategic partnerships in the field of phosphate fertilizer industry in Jordan to establish joint factories to produce 500,000 tons of Dab fertilizer and NPK fertilizer, to meet the needs of the Indonesian market.
During the meeting, they discussed the necessary procedures to start setting the legal and technical framework for the partnership between the two sides, leading to the start of establishing joint factories in Aqaba.
Dr. Al-Thneibat affirmed the keenness of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company to find strategic companies with international companies specialized in the production and export of phosphate and phosphate fertilizers, praising the Jordanian-Indonesian experience in this field.
Dr. Al-Thneibat presented the great achievements of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company during the past few years in terms of production and export, and the position the company has occupied in the global phosphate market.
He said that the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company has recently witnessed the signing of many cooperation agreements and the building of new companies, thus enhancing its competitive position in global markets.
For her part, Director of Operations and Production at the Indonesian PKG Company, Dejna Jatnense, stressed the importance of the partnership with the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, which will benefit both sides, especially with regard to meeting the Indonesian market’s needs of Jordanian phosphate fertilizers.
The guest delegation also praised the advanced level witnessed by the Jordanian phosphate industry, and the company’s openness to international cooperation in this field.
The visit of the Indonesian delegation to Jordan includes a visit to the work sites of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company to see the production processes and its various stages.
