UK store prices rise to highest level since 2008

British store prices rose during the current June at the fastest pace since 2008, reflecting the deepening crisis of living expenses in Britain.

According to data published by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) today, Wednesday, the store price index rose by 3.1 percent during the current month, after rising by 2.8 percent in May, to record its largest annual rise since September 2008.

Food prices increased during the current month by 5.6 percent, while the prices of non-food commodities increased by 1.9 percent.
