The Senate approved, in a legislative session on Thursday, headed by Faisal Al-Fayez, the draft law on political parties.

The draft law, as approved by the Senate, requires the founding parties before the law comes into force to reconcile their positions within one year from the date of its entry into force, by holding a general conference that meets the conditions of the founding conference. A thousand people, representing at least 6 governorates, at least 30 people from each governorate, and that the proportion of youth and women is not less than 20%, that at least one of the founders is a person with disabilities, and that the face-to-face attendance is not less than the majority of the founding members .
