As of 12 noon, the voter turnout in the provincial, municipal and Amman municipal council elections reached 8.83% in all governorates of Jordan, according to the Independent Election Commission.
Voters began to vote in these elections, as 4.599602 million male and female voters registered in the final voter lists are entitled to vote.
The head of the Independent Election Commission, Dr. Khaled Kalaldeh, confirmed today, Tuesday, that two cases were referred to the Public Prosecutor today, stressing that “this type of case will not pass easily.” The Monitoring Center had previously mentioned two cases of filming ballot papers inside the electoral district.
In turn, the Monitoring Alliance announced that it will monitor the municipal and provincial elections, transferring two cases to the Public Prosecutor by the Independent Election Commission related to filming the ballot paper inside the electoral district, after providing one of them from a monitor to the commission.
Monitor stressed the need to tighten the procedures associated with photographing the ballot paper, as this violates the secrecy of the vote, noting that the Monitoring team verifies a number of cases and will be provided to the Independent Election Commission directly to deal with them.
The director of Rasid, Amer Bani Amer, said that the Rasid team monitored 66 electoral notes until nine thirty in the morning, while 1200 electronic comments were monitored on social media related to hate speech and mobilization.
