The Compass – The turnout in the provincial and municipal council elections, and the Amman Municipality Council, as of five o’clock in the evening, reached 26.68% in all governorates of Jordan, according to the Independent Election Commission.
Voting rates were distributed to 13.87% for males and 12.81% for females, while the total number of voters reached 1.227070 million male and female voters.
As for the distribution of these percentages over the governorates, Madaba recorded 41.14%, Zarqa 14.83%, Balqa 33.92%, Al-Asimah 13%, Ajloun 58.37%, Jerash 54.24%, Mafraq 56.49%, Irbid 36.37%.
In Aqaba Governorate, it reached 29%, Ma’an 55.67%, Tafileh 48.51%, and Karak 51.53%.
Voters began to vote in these elections, as 4.599602 million male and female voters registered in the final voter lists are entitled to vote.
4,646 male and female candidates compete for their seats in the specified electoral districts, divided into 3,801 male and female candidates, and 845 female candidates, according to the data of the Independent Election Commission.
The kingdom was divided into 158 electoral districts for provincial councils, 100 municipalities, 409 electoral districts, while the Amman Municipality includes 22 electoral districts.
