The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, said on Saturday that the results of the agreements with telecom companies regarding fifth generation services will be announced next week, after completing the stage of preparing, reviewing and discussing legal contracts.

In a statement to the “Kingdom” during his participation in the national economic workshop held at the Royal Court, Al-Hanandeh indicated that these workshops came based on the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to develop a clear-cut, sustainable and cross-governmental roadmap that can be implemented according to a properly studied structuring of priorities and with a partnership between the public sectors. and private.

Hanandeh indicated that the telecommunications sector is one of the sectors targeted in these workshops, because it is one of the possible sectors to develop and enable other sectors to implement the transformation process and effectively contribute to social and economic development in Jordan.

He explained that the digital environment and digital empowerment of all sectors were discussed to ensure the provision of better services and economy to the Jordanian citizen, and during the discussion the infrastructure, services, legislative environment and data were discussed.

With regard to the national billing system, Al-Hanandeh indicated that the tender will be submitted in its final form within a month or two, and the operator will be chosen, and according to preliminary information, the billing system will be implemented during the period that has been committed.
