Roscosmos announced that the International Space Station will undergo a process of adjusting its orbit today, Friday.

A statement issued by the Foundation said that “on the evening of Friday, March 11, the orbit of the International Space Station will undergo an adjustment in its height, the aim of this process is to create the appropriate conditions for launching the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft towards it, and in preparation for the separation of the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft from it, which is supposed to return about Earth on the 30th of this month.

The statement added, “At 22:35 Moscow time, the engines of the Progress MS-18 spacecraft docked with the station are supposed to start working, and the engines will run for 320.07 seconds, and this process will move the station into space, increasing the altitude of its orbit by approximately 850 meters.”

Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Butor Dubrov, NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hay, Raja Shari, Tom Marshburne and Kayla Brown and European astronaut Matthias Maurer are currently on board the International Space Station.
