In an official letter, the head of the Syndicate of Agricultural Engineers, Abdul Hadi Al-Falahat, addressed both the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zarqa National University, Samir Habashneh, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Center for Human Rights, Raheel Gharaibeh, about the pressures that the agricultural engineer, Mai Adnan Abdullah, was subjected to as a result of her participation in the elections of the 25th Syndicate Council. .
According to the book, a copy of which was reviewed by Jordan News, she (May Abdullah), who works as a faculty member at the university, was subjected to various types of pressure to discourage her from running in the elections for the Council of Agricultural Engineers as a member of the Syndicate Council for the session (2022-2025). Ending with her with a penalty of termination of her contract with the university on 3/02/2022.
The peasant women described what happened with Abdullah as “a dangerous precedent that no state institution set, and a record of transgression on an integral part of the fabric of this country in which we enjoy the freedom of expression and acceptance of the rights of the other opinion.”
