Academic, political, and union elites emphasized in statements tocompass“The Jordanian street rejects normalization with the Zionist enemy and rejects all forms of normalization official relations, whatever their form and level, expressing their regret that some study centers have turned into “government mouthpieces” that seek to market what Jordanian officials want in this context.

They stressed that the Jordanian, Arab and Islamic street adheres to all Arab-Palestinian rights and continues to reject peace and normalization projects that have proven to have failed during the past decades, at the same time questioning the credibility of some opinion polls that seek to show a change in the mood of the Jordanian street towards normalization and relations with the Zionist enemy.

A contradictory survey that lacks credibility and confidence

The political activist and coordinator of the enemy gas campaign expressed the occupation of Dr. Hisham Al-Bustani in his statements to “compassHe expressed his rejection of the results of opinion polls that seek to change the image of the Jordanian people rejecting relations with the Zionist enemy or normalizing relations with it, questioning the credibility of these polls and the truth and accuracy of the numbers they reported.

Al-Bustani stressed that the opinion poll, which talked about the acceptance of 53% of Jordanians with minimal relations with the Zionist enemy, contradicts itself, especially since the Jordanian citizen in the same poll considers the Zionist entity one of the most important challenges and the main enemy facing Jordan, stressing that “there is a contradiction between All the elements that the survey talks about.

He continued his speech by saying: “Very frankly, as intellectuals, observers and workers in public work, we unfortunately do not have any confidence in a study center that is involved in normalization processes, and has participated in normalization conferences recently,” noting that “when students at the University of Jordan protested against the center’s normalizing practices, they were transferred. to investigation.”

Al-Bustani said: “I do not think that the center is qualified to talk about issues of this kind, as we have low confidence in it, and it has no credibility in this aspect,” explaining at the same time that “all those familiar with the Jordanian scene in the popular, institutional, partisan and union sense find that those who call for normalization find that those who call for normalization With the Zionist entity, individuals are limited. No party, even those that support the government approach in Jordan, or its leaders, would dare to come out openly to demand the normalization of relations with the Zionist enemy.

He stressed that “everyone considers the Zionist entity a hostile entity, in addition to the fact that the official opinion of Jordan in a number of places when it talks about Jerusalem, even if it is for statements only, considers the Zionist entity a direct threat to Jordan’s strategic interests.”

trumpet for the official jordanian

For his part, the union activist, Engineer Maysara Malas, accused the Center for Strategic Studies of turning into a mouthpiece for the Jordanian official, who seeks to promote normalization with the Zionist entity, describing the poll as “according to the request.”

Malas said in his statements tocompass“The Jordanian street rejects normalization with the Zionist enemy,” noting at the same time that the results of opinion polls published in the studies of international centers indicate an increase in the percentage of those who reject American and Zionist policies in the Arab and Islamic world.

He continued by saying: “I have asked the President of the University of Jordan to remove this center from under his cloak, so that these positions are not counted on the university and its bright history.”

Has the mood of the Jordanian street changed towards normalization?

For his part, Professor of Political Science at the University of Jordan, Ahmed Saeed Nofal, confirmed in his statements to “Al-Basala” that the mood of the Jordanian street has not changed towards the occupying state and the Zionist enemy, stressing that it is more and more committed to Arab Palestinian rights.

Nofal expressed his regret for the results that come out of some opinion polls, especially since the street views them with suspicion and suspicion because of what is meant to pass messages through them, at a time when a number of studies speak of questioning what emerges from the results of public opinion studies and their credibility and the inability to verify its results.

He stressed that “the Palestinian cause is not a central issue for the Jordanian people, but rather a central issue for the entire nation, stressing at the same time that the racist Israeli-Zionist practices have made it difficult for any country, government, or party to promote peace and normalization with this enemy.

Nofal said that these practices increase the Arab and Islamic street’s adherence to rights and the rejection of relations with this enemy and the impossibility of establishing peace with it. The Zionist movement is “racist” and aggressive, and no one can coexist with it, and the Zionist ideology is racist against “gentlemen,” including Eastern Jews.

Nofal wondered how those who call for normalization could ask Arab peoples to shake hands with those who view the Gentiles as “donkeys for service” and “cockroaches that must be trampled” with their declared beliefs.

A survey without scientific methodology

In his statements to “Al-Yarmouk Satellite”, Dr. Muhammad al-Qudah, an expert in opinion polls, said that the opinion polls come in the context of the government’s efforts to take important and fateful decisions and to reveal the views of the street and its general trends.

He noted that the opinion polls, no matter how high quality, are marred by some errors in the nature of the samples, the questions and the options that were put to the respondents, noting that we must know that the opinion poll produces numbers, but most importantly, how to interpret these numbers.

He pointed out that in the case of the Center for Strategic Studies’ opinion poll on foreign policy, which is the first of its kind, it has some positives, but there are some scientific observations that marred the poll.

He explained that the opinion methodology should be known and known to the reader. The methodology through which the survey was conducted, whether it was personal interviews, telephone communications, or electronic links, should be known, which are not considered in the surveys and their reliability is minimal.

He stressed that this poll did not contain a summary of the results on the methodology he followed, so we do not know how the data were collected and we did not know the sample size.

The judges said: As observers and experts, we cannot verify the credibility of the numbers collected, and this depends on the reputation of the center, which has a good reputation and is well known in the Middle East.

He pointed out that the center’s researchers were unsuccessful in the question posed about the Jordanian street’s opinion of relations with the Zionist entity in terms of developing appropriate options and the correct formulation of the question, stressing that the question should have contained more options to meet the respondents’ desires.
