Compass – Professor of Constitutional Law, Dr. Laith Nasraween, said that next week will be the second anniversary of the implementation of the Defense Law, which was adorned by the Royal High Administration on March 13, 2020.

Nasraween added today, Friday, that the ruling on the continuity of activating the Defense Law is related to the reasons and justifications that prompted the Council of Ministers at that period to recommend to the King to activate the Defense Law.

He pointed out that the decision of the Council of Ministers during that period was the announcement by the World Health Organization of the spread of the Corona virus, and that it was a global pandemic to preserve public health and safety in Jordan.

Nasrawin stressed that whether or not the defense law will survive is related to the reasons and justifications for its activation, and if it is true that the World Health Organization will announce the end of the epidemic during this year, here it can be said that the justifications for the defense law have sufficed and the reasons that prompted the government to activate it have ended, and in that period we can talk of suspending the law.

Professor of constitutional law, Dr. Laith Nasraween, indicated that stopping the defense law requires a cabinet decision and a royal will.
