NASA has launched a new GOES satellite into space that can predict weather and climate disasters.

The Daily Mail reports that GOES-T’s mission is to monitor worrisome climate changes such as dust storms, landslides, hurricanes and thunderstorms over regions of the Western Hemisphere. In addition, thunder, coastal fog and wildfires will be monitored.

It should be noted that the GOES-T satellite, which was launched on March 1 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, by the Atlas V transport rocket is the third of four NASA satellites. NASA launched the first satellite of this group in 2016 to monitor climate changes in the eastern coastal regions. The fourth satellite is scheduled to be launched in 2024.

With the help of GOES satellites, experts can predict the weather in real time and monitor geomagnetic storms as well as the environment on Earth and in space.

It is noteworthy that experts announced last February that the Starlink satellites launched by the American company SpaceX hinder the study of dangerous space objects such as comets and asteroids.
