The Ministry of Health confirmed that the dispatch of one of its female physicians to specialize in the Dermatology Department of the Royal Medical Services is consistent with its scholarship and dispatch policy that has been in place since 2020.
In a statement today, Thursday, the Ministry denied what is being circulated on some news websites and social media about the existence of a violation in the ministry’s sending a female doctor to one of the residency programs in the Royal Medical Services to study the specialty of dermatology, pointing out that the approval for her dispatch was based on the doctor’s presence to approve the services. medical and pass their residency exam.
The Ministry indicated that the doctor accepted by the Royal Medical Services had applied for the medical services exam for the specialty of dermatology on 11/21/2021, and the decision of the Technical Committee in Medical Services was issued on 2/12/2021 approving her acceptance for training as a first-year resident in the specialty of general internal medicine from Within the dermatology and venereology specialization in Al-Hussein Medical City and was attached on February 13, 2022. And that before the date of the interviews conducted by the Ministry to distribute the competencies.
The ministry confirmed that it sends any of its doctors who is able to obtain admission in any residency program or sub-specialties within the Royal Medical Services and university hospitals, and passes the exam that these hospitals take, and there is no role for the Ministry of Health exam in acceptance.
She indicated that every year it enlists and sends doctors in some specialties such as dermatology, dental specialties and laboratories within these hospitals, where a number of doctors were enrolled last year and this year.
The ministry clarified that the appointment of doctors and their scholarship outside the ministry is subject to criteria and conditions, most notably the availability of allocated allocations within the ministry’s annual scholarship budget and passing the examination held by the entity to which the scholarship is being sent, not the Ministry of Health.
