The Public Security Directorate announced the crime statistics and the efforts exerted by its units and formations during the past month.

The directorate said in a statement this evening, Thursday, that it had dealt with 439 criminal cases, including four murders, where the rate of discovery of criminal crimes against people was 100%, and 1,098 misdemeanor cases, including 1,030 crimes involving funds, most of which were referred to the judiciary, with a discovery rate of 86%.

According to the statement, 186 firearms were seized by dealing with reports of shooting or by investigating various cases.

The statement added that the drug control dealt with 1,580 cases, including 476 cases of promotion and trafficking, during which 895 promoters and dealers were arrested.

She noted that a total of 15 million narcotic pills, 2,951 kg of hashish and separate quantities of other narcotic substances were seized during those cases, in cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces.

1. Offense Axis:

Police directorates, security centers, and the Department of Criminal Investigation and Preventive Security dealt during February 2022 with 439 criminal cases, and the rate of discovery of crimes against people was 100%, and 1098 misdemeanor cases were dealt with, including 1,030 crimes against money, most of which were referred to the judiciary, with detection rates of 86%. .

The most prominent of these cases were dealing with 4 cases of murder, all of which were discovered, 69 cases of attempted murder and serious abuse, all of which were discovered, 255 cases of criminal theft, 525 cases of misdemeanor theft, 178 cases of fraud and 40 cases of car theft.

2. Anti-drug:

The Narcotics Control Administration is still continuing its campaigns to pursue and control all forms of dealing with narcotic substances, especially with regard to trafficking, internal promotion and smuggling.

1580 cases, including 476 cases of promotion and trafficking, during which 895 promoters and dealers were arrested, in addition to 2197 persons in drug cases, including 176 non-Jordanians.

During those cases, large quantities of narcotic poisons were seized, as follows:

15 million and 462 thousand narcotic pills, 2951 kg of narcotic hashish, 1.5 kg of industrial hashish, and 1.3 kg of crystal narcotic.

The Jordanian armed forces had the largest role in seizing large quantities of these materials through their efforts around the clock to confront smugglers across the border.

While the emergency patrols deployed in the various governorates of the Kingdom and the Badia regions dealt with 8,859 arrests of different cases while performing their duty.

3. Civil Defense:

The Directorate of Civil Defense, through its directorates and departments in various regions of the Kingdom, responded during February 2022 to 39,579 accidents, including 36,205 ambulance cases, 882 firefighting accidents, and 2492 rescue cases. The Kingdom in anticipation of any emergency during its session.

With regard to biological disinfection operations to confront the Corona virus, the specialized teams carried out 62 disinfection operations for institutions and facilities, and 17,285 disinfection of special mechanisms at border crossings.

4. The Gendarmerie:

During the month of February, the gendarmerie carried out 2445 duties in the various governorates of the Kingdom, and the gendarmerie forces supported all public security units and formations during their various duties, and these duties varied between operational, social and humanitarian.

5. Traffic axis:

The Traffic Department dealt with 708 traffic accidents that resulted in human injuries and material damage.

Through its campaigns on dangerous violations, 4,085 violations of a red light were seized, and 1996 violations of excessive speed.

And 2026 is a violation of driving in the opposite direction of traffic.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Patrols Department issued 42,744 traffic violations, seized two customs cases, and seized 46 wanted and stolen vehicles.

While the total amount accomplished by the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department in its various sections and mobile testing stations reached 132,933 different transactions (vehicle licensing renewal, vehicle registration, driver examination, licensing development, licensing renewal and others).

The administration is working to complete the inspection system from inside your vehicle, as work will begin at new stations during this month.

6. Operations hub:

The Directorate of Operations and Control received 166,517 calls via the unified emergency phone 911, and all were dealt with.

7. Specialized departments axis:

The Family and Juvenile Protection Department: It dealt with 2573 cases related to its family responsibilities and juvenile delinquency, and it was dealt with according to the established rules.

Cybercrime Unit

During the month of February, the unit received 1,206 complaints submitted by citizens, and most of those complaints were in cases of (insulting, cursing, humiliation, defamation and extortion).

The Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Department receives 88,675 visits to inmates’ families during the month of February, and 3,843 visits by lawyers, with the announcement of the supplementary high school results, as 22 inmates passed the high school exam inside the reform and rehabilitation centers.

* Royal Department for Environmental Protection and Tourism:

Where the administration dealt with 2,775 violations and environmental issues, during which legal measures were taken, while the administration provided its services to tourists and visitors to tourist places, and dealt with 129,018,000 visitors and 16 delegations.

* Judicial execution: During the month of February, the administration executed 13,188 judicial requests, whether for wanted persons, circulars, or requests for eviction and detention.

** Residency and Borders Department: The Department, through all border crossings and airports, dealt with 277,594 travelers coming to the Kingdom and 267,817 departing travelers from the Kingdom, and it handled 12,400 annual residency transactions and 2,687 temporary residency transactions.

** Bridges Security Department The department handled 42,094 incoming passengers and 39,772 departing passengers.

** Media and Community Policing Department

In addition to its media and awareness activities that it carries out around the clock through Public Security Radio, direct communication with various media, publishing news and responding to press inquiries, the Community Police implemented 227 community initiatives and activities in various governorates of the Kingdom, in cooperation and partnership with citizens and civil and community institutions.

** Sports activities

The Public Security Directorate’s athletes made remarkable sporting achievements through their participation in tournaments and sports competitions during February 2022, where the public security judo team won (7 gold, 9 silver, 4 bronze) in the Kingdom Open Championship, while the public security judo team continued their distinguished appearance Accompanied by the national teams, the Taekwondo Public Security team players (Zayd Al-Halawani and Juliana Al-Sadiq) won two gold medals in the Arab Cup in the United Arab Emirates, and two gold medals in the Fujairah International Championship within the delegation of the national team participating in the two tournaments.
