The Eastern Military District thwarted, at dawn today, Friday – within the area of ​​responsibility – an attempt to infiltrate a number of vehicles coming from Syrian territory into Jordanian territory, according to an official source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army.

The source said that the border guards monitored – through front-line monitors – the vehicles coming towards the Jordanian border, where quick reaction patrols were moved and the rules of engagement were applied with direct shooting, which led to the killing of one of the smugglers, the destruction of one of the vehicles and the flight of others to the Syrian depth.

The source stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army is always on the lookout for anyone who is tempted to prejudice the security of the homeland and the citizen, and will deal with force and firmness and implement the new rules of engagement, to prevent any infiltration or smuggling attempts.
