Today, Thursday, Jordan TV said in a report that 23 ships of wheat and barley will arrive in the Kingdom, successively, until next August.

According to the report, 11 ships loaded with wheat and 12 barley are expected to arrive in Jordan during the first eight months of this year, from both of them, 3 ships.

The quantities expected to reach Jordan are about 111 thousand tons of the two substances.

Aqaba Industry and Trade Director, Engineer Suhaila Al-Bdour, said that the contracted quantities of wheat are of Romanian origin, while the origin of barley is from Australia.

She added that the ministry is trying to diversify import sources to avoid any risks, noting that the strategic stockpile of wheat is sufficient for a period ranging between 15-18 months, as the quantity stored in Aqaba silos reaches 112,000 tons until this morning.

As for barley, the strategic stockpile is sufficient for 12 months, and the quantity stored in silos amounts to 40 thousand tons.
