The President of the Civil Service Bureau, Sameh Al-Nasser, announced that the Bureau receives more job applications than job opportunities available in government institutions and departments.

Al-Nasser said the total of debt applicants has ballooned by more than 7.6 percent this year, to a cumulative 455,604 applicants. He added that the bureau could only hire 10-12 percent of applicants annually, less than 2 percent of the cumulative total.

He noted that 18,800 applicants, or 4 percent of all applicants, had more than one educational qualification.

Nasser announced that 10,069 applications from the competitive role have been canceled this year, including 1,436 for retirees or military personnel, and another 5,888 applications were rejected because applicants were 48 years old or older.

About 10 percent of all current applicants, or 43,319 applicants, are currently between the ages of 40 and 48, and 74 percent of applicants are under 34, according to Nasser.

The number of applicants registered in the Social Security database reached 136,890, or 30% of the total applicants, of whom 68,103 receive a salary of more than 600 dinars.
