The elections for the engineering divisions’ councils (mechanical engineering and civil engineering) for the twenty-ninth session began today, Friday, to select members of the engineering divisions’ councils and their central bodies, while the Mining, Mining, Geological and Petroleum Engineering Division won by acclamation.

The head of the Election Management Committee, the Secretary-General of the Engineers Syndicate, Engineer Ali Nasser, said in a press statement today, Friday, that the union has provided ballot boxes for the engineering people whose elections will be held, in the union’s branches in the governorates to facilitate the voting process for engineers.

He pointed out that the public bodies that were held yesterday, Thursday, during which the committees supervising the funds were identified to ensure transparency and integrity and to conduct procedures according to the rules, noting that the polls will close at six o’clock in the evening, after which preparations for the sorting process will begin.

He pointed out that the number of those eligible to vote in the Civil Engineering Division is 21,430, while in the Mechanical Engineering Division 12,335 are male and female engineers.

With regard to the ballot boxes, Engineer Nasser said that the number of ballot boxes in the main center in Amman is 4, while the number in the branches is 20, indicating that civil and mechanical engineers can vote in any branch of the Syndicate, except for the two branches of Madaba and Maan for mechanical engineering, where There are no ballot boxes available in the two branches of mechanical engineering.
