Civil and Mechanical Engineering Division elections kick off

The Civil and Mechanical Engineering Division elections began on Friday, as the number of candidates for the Civil Engineering Division Council elections reached 20, while the number of candidates for the Central Commission of the Civil Division reached 49.

The number of candidates for the Council of the Mechanical Engineering Division elections reached 17, and the number of candidates for the Central Committee of the Mechanical Division reached 42.

The elections began at nine in the morning and lasted until six in the evening.

The head of the election committee, the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Engineers Association, Ali Nasser, said in a statement to “The Kingdom” that 33,765 male and female engineers are entitled to vote for the civil and mechanical engineering divisions in all governorates.

Ali Nasser stressed the union’s readiness to hold its elections within the specified periods, indicating that it is taking everything necessary to make the electoral process a success, overcome all difficulties, and secure all logistical requirements for the success of the event.

It includes 11 branches in various governorates of the Kingdom, in addition to six engineering divisions (the Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Architecture, Mines and Mining Division), while the number of the General Authority of the Syndicate exceeded 180,000 female and male engineers, according to Ali Nasser.

Al-Nasser had announced the victory of the “Mining, Mining, Geological and Petroleum Engineering” division of the Jordanian Engineers Association, by acclamation to the division’s council and its central body.

The remaining three divisions are the Architectural Division, the Electrical Division, and the Chemical Division. Their public bodies will be held next Thursday, March 3, 2022.

Al-Nasser also indicated that the general bodies of the divisions of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, mine engineering and mining in the Jordanian Engineers Association held their regular annual meetings, Thursday, at the Professional Associations Complex, and the annual reports of each division for the years 2020 and 2021 were discussed, in addition to setting the general policy of the people’s councils for the year 2022. .

The meetings of the people’s general bodies discussed matters relating to the practice of the profession related to the division’s divisions and branches, and took appropriate decisions regarding them and any suggestions related to them.

The meetings included preparations for the election of the members of the Division Council and the members complementing it in the central body on the day following the meeting of the general assembly.
