Dr. Irina Gosteva, a dermatologist, revealed the causes of the widespread phenomenon of dry and cracked lips.

In a television interview, the specialist indicated that the vast majority of people were exposed to this widespread phenomenon, which may be a purely cosmetic problem, or a symptom of a serious disease.

And she adds, the weather usually causes dry lips. For example, a person may be allergic to the sun or ultraviolet rays. Because in the strong sun, the lips not only dry out, but they become brown in color. Therefore, it is not recommended to use lipstick on the coast and while on the road, because the dye helps to burn the lips.

The specialist points out that cold, wind, and dry house air also cause dry and cracked lips. And of course exposure to wind and cold exacerbates the problem. Therefore, she recommends using a healthy lip balm or lipstick, the important thing is that it does not contain petroleum jelly, because it creates the illusion that the lips are wet, but its effect is actually “like licking the lips.” She adds that the best cosmetics are those that contain beeswax, as well as those containing lanolin, shea oil and chamomile.

Other factors that cause dry lips include:
