The statement added, “Her light, beauty and strength were a source of inspiration to many around the world. The late embodied the concepts of love and serving others through her work as a lawyer fighting for justice, and as Miss USA.”

The American newspaper quoted sources as saying that Krist lived alone on the ninth floor of the building, and was last seen on the twenty-ninth floor.

According to those sources, Krist left a message in which she said that she wanted to leave everything to her mother, without mentioning the reason for her suicide.

Sources suggested that Christ’s suicide was motivated by depression, as she had previously confirmed in a Facebook post in October 2019, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, that she was undergoing treatment by a consultant to deal with stress and pressure.
