A member of the National Committee for Epidemiology, Dr. Bassam Hijjawi, suggested that Jordan will record fewer than 100,000 cases of corona during the current epidemiological week.
And he continued, in an interview with Security FM radio, that the peak was in the epidemiological week that ended on February 11 last, indicating later that the infections began to decline.
And he indicated that Jordan is heading for a clear decline in the number of infections, noting that the active infections reached the limits of 196 thousand cases, and then returned to 153 thousand after the epidemiological curve reached its climax.
No numbers are increasing despite the opening of schools 3 days ago, noting that the Omicron incubation period is short, meaning that if a spread had occurred, it would have been discovered quickly, according to Hijjawi.
Regarding the antiviral “treatment,” Hijjawi said that it is available on a global level, but that it will arrive in Jordan in the first week of next March.
